About

What can you expect to find in this Blog?  Im not quite sure yet myself.  It’s a work in its infancy.  But one of my favorite authors, John Steinbeck, wrote the following in East of Eden:

And this I believe: that the free, exploring mind of the individual human is the most valuable thing in the world.  And this I would fight for: the freedom of the mind to take any direction it wishes, undirected.  And this I must fight against: any idea, religion, or government which limits or destroys the individual.

I don’t know if I can come up with a better short synopsis of how I feel about life (at least politics) than that.

So throughout this Blog, I will explore and share the freedom of my mind, the experiences of my life, and in the process pursue my own bit of happiness.

If you like politics and political philosophy and thought check out the Political category for articles on liberty, the true nature of the State, non-aggression, collectivism, voting, voluntaryism, free markets and more.

In my Spirituality category I will share my feelings and thoughts about the search for a meaningful higher power in my life.  Currently I call this higher power God, but I have found wonderful answers about life and our relationships with others in religions and philosophies from all over the world.  Our connection to the universe and that unknown something greater than ourselves has always been fascinating to me.  Maybe we have shared some of the same searches.

In my Personal category I will explore and share my thoughts, writings, photos and observations about familiar everyday life occurrences: daily events, travel, books, movies, people and family.  If a story or event involves another person from my life, I may substitute names if I feel that using someone’s real name could be embarrassing, compromising or intrusive to their privacy.  However, I will relate all events and my thoughts about them as truthfully as possible, and hopefully with some insight and humor.

If you like what I share, I hope you will follow me and feel free to comment and share your thoughts and experiences if you wish.
